The 12-hour time difference between Beijing and Eastern Time means that the Olympic day will start in the early evening and run through to mid morning, Toronto and Montreal time, so a lot of the Games will be taking place while we sleep.
Main network coverage will begin each day at 6am ET (3am PT), with CBC's Scott Russell and Diana Swain hosting Olympic Morning until noon (9am PT), when China is going to sleep. In the evening, Ron MacLean takes over with Olympic Prime, from 6pm-midnight, followed by the West Coast prime-time show, Olympic Pacific Prime, hosted by Ian Hanomansing, from 9pm-midnight PT (midnight-3am ET).
An army of CBC sports reporters will also be working with such past Olympic champions as sprinter Donovan Bailey and swimmers Mark Tewkesbury and Marianne Limpert as expert commentators.
Events will also be broadcast on TSN/TSNHD, RDS/RDS HD and bold. For schedules of the Games, visit starchoice.com/olympics (English) or starchoice.com/olympiques (French).
