Pacquiao Packs a Punch

In one of the most anticipated bouts of the year, Manny Pacquiao will fight Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV on Pay Per View, November 14, 2009.

After soundly beating Oscar De La Hoya with a never-ending barrage of punches, Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 KO) will take his high energy style into the ring against the heavy handed Cotto (34-1, 27 KO). With the fight being contested at the agreed upon weight of 145 pounds, the late rounds will determine which fighter can take more punishment. The winner of this bout will stake a claim as the 'best pound-for-pound fighter' in boxing today.

Pacquiao has won titles in six weight divisions from 112 to 140 pounds, cementing the Filipino national hero's status as the sport's pound-for-pound champion. Cotto (34-1, 27 KOs) rebounded from his only loss to Antonio Margarito last summer by stopping Michael Jennings to claim the WBO welterweight title in February.
